Flooring in Bude

Based in Bude, covering North Cornwall & North Devon

A new floor can change how a whole room feels — but only if what's underneath is right. Uneven subfloors, poor underlay and badly finished thresholds are the usual reasons a floor looks wrong or fails early.

We fit a wide range of flooring, from a single bathroom to large open-plan spaces and herringbone patterns, and we take the subfloor preparation seriously.

What's included

  • LVT (luxury vinyl tile and plank), including herringbone
  • Laminate flooring
  • Engineered and solid wood flooring
  • Sheet vinyl
  • Carpet
  • Removal of old flooring where appropriate
  • Underlay, trims and thresholds
  • Reasonable subfloor preparation and levelling

It starts with the subfloor

Most flooring needs a flat, sound, dry base. We check what's there before we start, and where needed we'll level, patch or board the floor first. It adds a little time but it's what stops boards clicking, gaps opening up and joints failing.

Herringbone and pattern floors

Herringbone takes more setting out and more cuts than a straight-lay floor, but the result is worth it. Getting the centre line right at the start is everything, so the pattern runs true through the room and the doorways.

Choosing a floor

Not sure between LVT, laminate or wood? It depends on the room, how it's used and your budget. Our guide on LVT vs laminate covers the main differences — or just ask and we'll talk it through.
